Front Loaders for Compact Tractors: Buying Guide, Model Comparison and Everything About Quick Detachment

Front loaders for compact tractors: a buying guide, model comparison and everything about quick detachment

A front loader is one of the most useful additions you can get for a compact tractor. It turns a working machine into a truly versatile helper — able to load soil, move pallets, clear snow or handle timber. And you do not have to keep it on the tractor all the time. That is one of the biggest advantages of modern loaders: they can be detached and reattached in a matter of minutes.

At Traktor Centrum we design, build and fit front loaders ourselves — from the first weld to the paint shop. That is why we know exactly what customers need and what each model can handle.

How does a front loader work and what can you use it for?

A front loader is a hydraulically operated attachment mounted on the front of the tractor. The operator controls raising, lowering and tipping the bucket with a joystick directly from the seat. The hydraulic oil that drives the loader is supplied by the tractor's own hydraulic circuit.

Typical use of the front loader Suitable attachment Season
Loading soil, gravel, sand Bucket (standard) or grapple bucket All year round
Moving hay, straw, silage bales Bale spear Spring, summer, autumn, winter
Handling pallets and crates Pallet forks All year round
Working with timber and logs TCM Max log grapple All year round
Snow clearing Snow plough, bucket Winter
Preparing beds, mulching Bucket Spring, summer, autumn

Models from Traktor Centrum's own production: TCM M1 vs. TCM M3

At Traktor Centrum we build front loaders under our own TCM brand — from design and drawings through the welding shop to the powder-coating line. Every loader is made right here in Smržov near Hradec Králové and is designed with specific Kubota compact tractor models in mind. We offer two basic models that differ in performance and intended use.

Detaching and attaching the loader: fast, simple and without tools

One of the most common concerns customers have is: "Do I have to keep the loader on the tractor all the time, or can I take it off?" The answer is simple — you can remove the loader and put it back on very quickly, practically on your own and without special tools. This means your tractor is immediately ready for other work without losing the benefits of the loader.

The principle is as follows: mounting brackets are permanently welded to the tractor frame — these always stay on the tractor. The loader itself slides onto these brackets, is secured with pins and the hydraulic hoses are connected using quick couplers. One person can normally do the whole job in 2–5 minutes.

Step Attaching the loader Detaching the loader
1 Drive the tractor up to the parked loader and into the brackets Lower the bucket to the ground — the loader must stand stable
2 Retract the parking stands the loader stands on Extend the parking stands so the loader can stand on its own
3 Insert the locking pins and secure them with split pins Disconnect the hydraulic hoses using the quick couplers
4 Connect the hydraulic hoses to the tractor's quick couplers Pull out the locking pins and remove the split pins
5 Test the hydraulics and the loader is ready Drive the tractor away — the brackets stay on the frame, the loader stays where it is
Time approx. 2–5 minutes, one person approx. 2–5 minutes, one person
✓ One loader — two tractors. If you have brackets on more than one tractor, you only need one loader and can move it between the machines. Switching takes 2–5 minutes.

Changing loader attachments: the quick-coupling system

Besides detaching the whole loader from the tractor, you will also appreciate being able to change the working tool itself quickly — the so-called quick-coupling system. It lets you swap the bucket for forks, a grapple or another attachment without tools, right in the field or in the yard.

A practical example: in the morning you load manure with the bucket, after lunch you swap the bucket for the bale spear and move hay bales — all without removing the loader from the machine. The change takes literally a few tens of seconds.

Front loader attachments from TCM's own production

We make all the attachments for our loaders ourselves — in our own metalworking shop with both wet-paint and powder-coating lines. Each piece is matched to a specific loader model and is tested in real-world use.

Attachment What it is used for Who it is for
Standard bucket Loading soil, gravel, sand, snow The most versatile choice — suitable for everyone
Grapple bucket with side teeth Holds material in place during transport, more efficient filling Anyone transporting loose or coarse materials
Pallet forks Lifting and moving pallets, crates, sacks Farms, warehouses, construction sites
Bale spear Safe handling of hay, straw, silage Farmers, livestock keepers
TCM Max log grapple Gripping, lifting and moving logs and trunks Forest owners, landowners working with timber

Which tractors can we fit the loader to?

We fit our front loaders primarily to Kubota compact tractors from 20 hp — i.e. the whole GL, GT and KL range and others. We do the fitting ourselves in our workshop in Smržov. Because we make the brackets to measure for each specific model, the loader fits precisely, with no improvisation and no modifications to the tractor frame.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit the loader myself?

We recommend leaving the fitting of the loader to the tractor frame to us — it requires professional installation of the hydraulics and precise positioning. Once the brackets are fitted, you can attach and remove the loader entirely by yourself.

Can these loaders also be fitted to compact tractors other than Kubota?

Yes, we can build one individually for any compact tractor.

Will the frame damage the bodywork or the tractor frame?

No. The brackets are designed to distribute the load evenly onto the tractor's chassis without deforming it. We carry out the fitting with the specific machine type in mind.

Can attachments be made to measure?

Yes. We have our own metalworking shop and paint shop — if the standard attachments do not meet your needs, we will be happy to make a piece exactly to measure.
