How to choose an axle part
On 4WD machines the front axle is driven, so besides the steering it also contains a differential and a drive shaft. Parts differ by model and by side (left and right ball joint, steering rod). For ball joints, compare the size given in the name.

What to watch out for
- Play in the steering is usually caused by worn ball joints. Replace them together with the dust boots.
- A torn dust boot lets water and dirt into the joint. A cheap dust boot protects an expensive joint.
- Check the front differential oil at every axle repair.
