Thermostat is a key part of engine cooling systemwhich provides the correct engine operating temperature by regulating the flow of coolant between the engine block and radiator. When the set temperature is reached, the thermostat opens and allows coolant to pass through to the radiator, preventing the engine from overheating and also speeding up cold start warm-up. A properly functioning thermostat is therefore essential for optimum engine performance, efficiency and lifetime.
