Forestry Winches
A forestry winch for compact tractors is used to skid and pull logs out of the stand to the track — from places the tractor cannot reach. We offer 3 three-point winches with a pulling force from 2.5 to 5 tonnes: the Winch 2.5T for compact tractors from 15 hp and two forestry winches from the Slovenian manufacturer Vitli KRPAN — the KRPAN 4 GL-M (4 t, tractors 30–45 hp) and the KRPAN 5 GL-M (5 t, tractors 45–60 hp).
All of them attach to a three-point hitch and are driven by a 540 rpm PTO shaft. Prices from 34,400 CZK to 82,080 CZK incl. VAT.

Which winch to choose
- Compact tractor from 15 hp: Winch 2.5T — the lightest and most affordable option with 2.5 t pulling force and 40 m of rope.
- Tractor 30–45 hp: KRPAN 4 GL-M — 4 t pulling force, 9 mm rope, mechanical controls and a band brake.
- Tractor 45–60 hp: KRPAN 5 GL-M — 5 t pulling force, 10 mm rope, Cat I and Cat II hitch.
What to watch out for
- The tractor must stand firmly with the brakes applied. A light machine without 4WD easily shifts when pulling in the forest.
- Do not stand in line with the rope or in the area where the rope would whip if it broke.
- Check the rope regularly. Replace a frayed or kinked rope.
Frequently asked questions
How big a log can the winches pull?
The Winch 2.5T has a pulling force of 2.5 tonnes, the KRPAN 4 GL-M 4 tonnes and the KRPAN 5 GL-M 5 tonnes. The actual resistance of the log, however, depends on the terrain, the gradient and whether the log catches on stumps — in practice, work with a safety margin.
Which tractor does each winch fit?
The Winch 2.5T fits compact tractors from 15 hp with a Cat I three-point hitch, the KRPAN 4 GL-M tractors of 30–45 hp (Cat I) and the KRPAN 5 GL-M tractors of 45–60 hp (Cat I / Cat II).
